Independent
This is when a birth mother selects adoptive parents who she may already know. This could be a situation where an aunt, uncle, or older brother or sister choose to adopt the baby.
Agency Identified
This is when a birth mother chooses to work through a licensed adoption agency and the adoptive parents are either known or chosen by the mother herself.
Traditional Agency
This is when the birth mother relinquishes her rights to a licensed agency and has no knowledge of who the adoptive parents will be following the birth of the child.
